Rosalie Ison

(From Brenner Mortuary)

Rosalie Lucille Ison, 91, peacefully entered the Lord’s Kingdom on April 3, 2018 at Via Christie Village in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Rosalie was born in Arma, Kansas to Reno and Rina (Cinotto) Noor on May 9, 1926. Following the tragic death of her parents in 1932, she was raised by her grandparents, Lawrence and Lucia Cinotto. She graduated from Arma High School in 1944. Shortly after she graduated, she was living in Kansas City Missouri and working at Fred Harvey Gifts in Union Station. It was there that she met a handsome young baseball player serving in the Army named James Ison. Jim and Rosalie were married for 66 years until his death on October 9, 2012.

Over the course of her adult life Rosalie was employed with a variety of jobs including: Pratt & Whitney, The Jones Store Co. and for Dr. Ron Albright. Rosalie also devoted much of her time to various causes dear to her heart and spirit including: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Alter Society, Tuesday morning Rosary group and adoration, Pittsburg Goodwill, and St. Mary’s Colgan School. Rosalie was a devout Catholic, and her faith guided her throughout her entire life. She often talked about how she looked forward to reuniting with her parents in Heaven, having lost them at such a young age.

Rosalie’s world centered around her family and she was at her happiest when she had her children and grandchildren around her. Wonderful memories were made in her kitchen making her cherished Cappellettis the way they did it in the Italian “Old Country” where her grandparents were from. Rosalie enjoyed the simple things in life and loved spending time talking about anything that was important to those she loved.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, sister Lena (Lloyd) Bennet, grandson Gabriel John Ison and great grandson John Paul Clinton. Rosalie is survived by her 3 devoted children, daughter Rosemary (Jerry) Clinton of Overland Park, Kansas; James (Janie) Ison of Sacramento, California; and John (Ronda) Ison of Pittsburg, Kansas. She is also survived by six grandsons, three granddaughters, four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

A celebration of Rosalie’s life will begin with the Rosary at 2:00 pm Friday, April 13, at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, with a burial ceremony immediately after at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund or Pittsburg State University College of Business These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
