Joan Delaine Troy- Hesler, age 90, of Baxter Springs, KS. passed away, Monday, February 19, 2017 at her home.
She was born September 7, 1927 to the late Audree Cliffard "A.C." Troy and Anna Mae Welsh. She was one of ten children (five girls and 5 boys).
Joan met the love of her life, Phil Hesler, while working for World Insurance Company, and they were married on November 4, 1955 in Omaha, NE. They moved to Baxter Springs in 1984 after Phil retired from World Insurance Company. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2012 after 56 years of marriage.
She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Joan enjoyed sewing and making crafts.
In addition to her parents and her husband Phil, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene D. Agan.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Hesler and wife Nancy of Baxter Springs; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 27, at 1:30 p.m. in the U.S. National Cemetery, Fort Scott, KS. with Pastor Gregory Mech, officiating.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday, from 6-7 p.m.
