David McKinely Tackett, age 53 of Galena, passed away suddenly at his home at 12:14 PM on Monday, February 26, 2018.
David was born in Auburn, CA on September 19, 1964 to the union of David Sherman Tackett and Bonnie Fae (Martin) Tackett. He had lived in California before moving to Galena at the age of 11. He graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1982, and later enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany and Louisiana until March of 1988.
He was a machinist by trade, working at Williams Machine in Galena for 25 years before becoming disabled from a car accident in 2012. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collection, and spending time with family and friends.
David married Pamela R. (Bresee) Tackett on February 20, 1987 in Miami, OK. She survives.
Additional survivors include his mother, Bonnie Tackett; one son, David A. Tackett (wife, Michaela) of Galena; and one daughter, Alisha Tackett (husband, Jared Sherrill) of Galena.
He was preceded in death by his father, David S. Tackett.
Mr. Tackett has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
