Doris Crumpacker

Doris Lee Crumpacker, 79, of McCune, KS, passed away Friday, February, 16, 2018 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1938, the daughter of Jacob and Opal (Noel) Davidson. She graduated from McCune Rural High School and then McPherson College for two year. Later in life she graduated from Labette County Community College.

On Sept. 7, 1958 she was united in marriage to Glen Crumpacker. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2012. Together they raised a family of eight on a rural dairy farm located near McCune, KS. Doris was life-long member and deaconess at Osage Church of the Brethren. Some of her favorite activities included being a 4-H leader, selling pies at the farmer’s market, being a member of the Gardening Club and teaching Sunday school. Doris also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s athletic events and Sunday dinners with her family. Doris also enjoyed playing games with her family, including softball when she was younger and as years passed, card and board games.

Doris is survived by her children, Bambi and John Holderread, Cindy and Jerry Alexander, Mark and Nancy Crumpacker, Ed and Shawna Crumpacker, Carl (Jody) and Jane Crumpacker, Frank and Sheila Crumpacker, Sandra and Mike Martinie, Linda and Kurt Grotheer. Grandchildren, Crista and Lester Wagner, Jason and Bethany Holderread, Jamie and Joe Hixon, Katie Holderread, Jerod and Morgan Alexander, Andrew and Alysha Crumpacker, Kayla and Nick Grotheer, Samantha Rakestraw, Cody Crumpacker and Addison Torchia, Noah Monsour, Mady Monsour, Adam Martinie, Elizabeth Crumpacker, Eian Monsour, Shi Ann Crumpacker, Alaina Martinie, Isabella Crumpacker, Matthew Martinie, Benjamin Crumpacker, Lydia Grotheer, Gunner Crumpacker and Sadie Grotheer. Great-Grandchildren, Jacob, KyLee and Clayton Wagner, Mason Hixon, Luke Holderread, Rhett Alexander, and Baby Crumpacker (on the way). She is also survived by two sisters, Donna and Al Schmidt and Betsy Holland; four brothers, Harvey and Marilyn Davidson, Kenneth and Dorothy Davidson, Carl and Dianna Davidson and Tim and Nicky Davidson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Ruth A. Clark.

A service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the Osage Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Robert Simonsick officiating. Burial will follow in the Osage Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Monday at the Brenner Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Osage Church of the Brethren Youth and/or Heifer Project International.
