Carl Crawford

Carl Oliver Crawford, 69, of Cherokee, passed away at 10:32 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017, at his residence. 

He was born, June 23, 1947, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of Earl and Marguerite Nadine (Little) Crawford. He attended local schools graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1965. He went on to receive his Associate's Degree from Kansas State Teachers College in auto body repair. Mr. Crawford served in the United States Army during Vietnam, before being Honorably Discharged. He worked several years at Vietti Auto Body as a repairman, and also at Kunshek Chat and Coal. Membership was held in the Benjamin Fuller American Legion of Pittsburg and he was one of the founding members of the Pittsburg Model Railroad Club. 

Mr. Crawford is survived by his much loved family which includes; one son, Kevin Crawford and his wife, Michelle of Pittsburg, KS, one daughter Carrie Dickerson and her husband, Brian of Mission, KS, one sister, Donna Korntheuer and her husband, Paul of Wichita, KS, five grandchildren, Greta, Maren, Adelaide (Daisy), Noah and Lauren, and two nephews, Shawn and Mak Korntheuer and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

A memorial service for Mr. Crawford is set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Brenner Mortuary. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m., until 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Pittsburg Model Railroad Club.
