Edward Jumper

Edward Jumper, age 78, passed away at 9:29 am, Friday, July 10. 2020 in the Labette Health emergency department, Parsons, KS. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Jumper, of the home.

Ed was born December 16, 1941 in Plankinton, South Dakota to Merle F. Jumper and Mamie (Buchholz) Jumper. He was a 7th Day Adventist and was ordained on May 28th, 1982. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventists Church in Chanute, KS where he had previously pastored. Ed also pastored congregations in Ft Scott and LaCross, Kansas. 








He served in the US Coast Guard and was a member of the American Legion 8th District earning a Certificate of Appreciation for his outstanding service as District Chaplain on May 5, 2011. Among his interests were woodworking, creating ink pens out of various materials, rebuilding machinery with a recent attention to his corvette, boat, and go-kart. Ed loved spending time with his family and friends participating in a variety of activities. 

Ed and Joyce Nalley shared 52-years of marriage together; Joyce passed in November, 2018. Ed and Sandra Walters Nance were married in May of 2019 and were blessed with the time they had together.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joyce, and a son, Jeff Jumper. Additional survivors include one son, Alan Jumper, Iowa City, IA; one daughter, Lisa Bramblett (husband, Ron) Pittsburg, KS; 4 step-children, Ed Nance (wife, Barbie), McCune, KS, John Nance, Joplin, MO, Ann Nance, Pittsburg, KS, and Tom Nance (wife, Terri) Cheriton, IA; 5 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.

He was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Oswego, KS for cremation. He will be laid to rest in Ft Scott, KS at a later date.
