Patricia Moore

Patricia A. Moore, 80, of Girard, died at 10:14 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2020 in Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. 

Patricia was born January 10, 1940 at rural McCune, Kansas, a daughter of Lester W. “Dutch” and Dorothy C. (McClelland) Ewan. She grew up at rural McCune and attended McCune Schools. 

Patricia married Jimmy D. Moore on January 5, 1959 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Jimmy preceded her in death on August 27, 2017. 

Patricia and Jimmy lived in various cities as Jimmy worked in the construction industry. They moved to Girard in 1965 and Patricia worked for several years in the school cafeteria in Girard. 

Patricia enjoyed her family, her church, gardening, and visiting with people. 

Patricia was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church at rural Girard. 








Survivors are her sons, Rick A. Moore, and his wife, Cheryle, of Pittsburg and Bruce Moore, and his wife, Kim, of Clermont, Florida; her daughter, Velina Hawkins of Girard; her grandchildren Abby Osborn, and her husband, Ike, Jill Wubbena, and her husband, Korey, Brie Rakestraw, and her husband, Cody, Tarah Cuppett, and her husband, Thomas, Shelby Taylor, and her husband, Brandon; her great-grandchildren Wyatt Osborn, Walker Osborn, Kinley Cuppett, and Bristol Cuppett, Kennedy Wubbena, Parker Wubbena; her sisters, Francis Payton of Fairland, Oklahoma, Wanda Madl of Pittsburg, Mary Ellen Greese of Fairland, and Marilyn Willis of Omaha, Nebraska; her brothers, Jim Ewan of Parsons, Kansas, Richard Ewan of McCune, Bill Ewan of Diamond, Missouri, Merle Ewan of St. Paul, Kansas.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Ray, Charles, and Leroy “Bud” Ewan; an infant brother, Donald Ewan. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Dustin Ledford officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
