Harriette White

Harriette E. White, 89, lifelong Parsonian, died at 10:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the home of her son, Robert White, in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She had been in Jacksonville the past four years.

She was born in Parsons on May 27, 1931 to Jefferson Moore Parks and Mary Jane (McClanahan) Parks. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1950.

On August 14, 1949 she and Robert R. White were married in Parsons. They lived for three years in Huntington, California before returning to Parsons. Robert preceded her in death on October 13, 1974.

Harriette was employed in the dietary department at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and doing word search books every day. In past years she loved to square dance.







Surviving are two children, Robert R. “Bob” White, Jr., of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Loretta Holsinger, of Parsons; grandchildren, Rick Holsinger, Brian White, Kimberly White Johnson, Amy White Buterbaugh, Amanda White and Christopher White; 8 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Parks of Kansas City, KS and sister-in-law Joann Parks of Parsons.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son Jeffrey White, daughter Phyllis White, grandson Sam Holsinger, son-in-law Mike Holsinger, daughter-in-law Mary Kathryn White and brothers James Moore Parks, Robert Parks and Jimmy Parks.

The graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 16 at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday.
