Pauline Sullivan

Yutha “Pauline” Sullivan, age 85 of Columbus, passed away at 12:20 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 in Neosho, MO.

Yutha was born on November 2, 1934 in Cherokee County, KS, the youngest of John L. Sullivan and Beatrice (Rowton) Sullivan’s twelve children, and the self-proclaimed “Daddy’s Girl”. She graduated from Columbus High School, and had lived in the Columbus area all of her life. 

She worked for the city of Columbus for an impressive 40 years from 1959-1999, eventually attaining the position of Assistant City Clerk. She enjoyed fishing, helping others, and caring for her dogs. She participated in a Women’s Bowling League with other women from Columbus, and they competed in several state tournaments in the 1960’s and 1970’s. She was a believer and a member of the Baptist Faith, being baptized into the church on August 30, 1998.








She was preceded in death by her parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her two four-legged girls; Mariah and Peaches; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mrs. Sullivan has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home for private burial at Park Cemetery of Columbus. 

The public is invited to a Celebration of Life that will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 2-3:00 PM at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
