Evelyn Sue Shannon, 66, of Oswego, KS passed from this life on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO.
Evelyn was born May 2, 1953 in Oswego, KS to Edward Ray Shannon and Elizabeth Nell (Barmore)Morris. Evelyn was a lifetime Oswego resident. Evelyn worked for many years at Ruskin’s Manufacturing. She didn’t know anything else besides work, however she did love spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Evelyn attend the Assembly of God Church in Oswego.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one son, J.D. Walker and wife Kristen of Oswego, KS; one daughter, Ronda Teal and husband Chad of Oswego, KS; Companion, Tommie Lentz of the home; eight siblings, Marilyn Burns and husband John of Tatum, N.M., John Shannon and wife Cindy of Oologah, OK, Carol McKinney of Oswego, KS, Leon Shannon and wife Debbie of McCune, KS, Janet Scott of Independence, KS, Ellen Ghering and husband Steve of Oswego, KS, Nancy Beck and husband Jake of Chetopa, KS, and Marjorie Reynolds of Independence, KS; seven grandchildren, Bailey Dickerson and husband Andy of Chetopa, KS, Leighton Smith of Oswego, KS, Katelynn Dean and husband Nate of Oswego, KS, Lakyn Teal and Companion Jacob Daniels of Oswego, KS, Lizzie Teal of Oswego, KS, Jacob Walker of Oswego, KS, and Lance Teal of Oswego, KS; four great grandchildren, Corbyn Dickerson, Sawyer Dickerson, Ridge Dickerson, and Kolson Daniels; also many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Assembly of God Church, Oswego, KS. Pastor Steve McBrien will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oswego Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday, November 25, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Assembly of God Church, Oswego, KS. Pallbearers for the service are; Leighton Smith, Jacob Walker, Lance Teal, Andy Dickerson, Nate Dean, and Jacob Daniels. Evelyn was a very giving person.
