Patrick C. Heit, 69, of Dennis, KS, passed away at 12:33 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2019 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO.
He was born April 6, 1949, the son of George Vernon and Dora Jeanne (Clark) Heit.
He grew up in Dennis, Kansas and attended Thayer High School.
On February 24, 1967, he was united in marriage to Cathy John at the John home in Thayer, Kansas. They just celebrated their 52ndanniversary.
Pat worked for the Dennis Coop, Gregg Cabinet, Adventureline, Ankortite, Power Flame, Schoenoffer Brothers, SAC and was a handyman contractor.
He farmed for most of his life and then he built up a small cattle operation that he was very proud of. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He baby sit them and he followed all their activities and loved them very much.
In addition to his wife Cathy, he is survived by two daughters, Teresa Ward and her husband Jason of McCune, KS, and Cindy Rocha of Chanute, KS; a sister, Rita Trotter and her husband, John of Hidden Valley, Kansas; a brother, Nicholas Heit and his wife, Connie of Dennis, KS and four grandchildren, Cathy SueAnn Johnson and Ben Daugherty and Carly Johnson and Cliff Woods, both of Parsons, Jarrett Johnson of Chanute, KS, and Lillian Ward of McCune; three great-grandsons, Matthew Shiflett and Gabriel Shiflett and Ian Woods all of Parsons; and a special niece, Julie Sale and husband, Chris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Visitation was held at 11:00 a.m. March 6, 2019 at the Brenner Mortuary. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary.
