Camilla MacPhail

Camilla Rae MacPhail, 94, of Pittsburg, passed away at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Via Christi Village.

She was born March 21, 1924 in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Fraser) Bumgarner.

She attended Pittsburg Public Schools and graduated from PHS in 1942. She then attended Pittsburg State University and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.

In 1953 she was united in marriage to John D. Kelso. He passed away in March 19, 1993.

Camilla worked for Mackie-Clemens Coal Company for 44 years.

On January 29, 1998, she married Donald C MacPhail. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2002.

Membership was held in the First United Methodist Church since 1940, Five Mary Circle, and P.E.O. Chapter I.O

She is survived by a step daughter Bobbie Sue Bagnell of Garden City, KS; three nephews Steve Bumgarner of Phoenix, AZ, Barry Bumgarner of Springfield, VA, and Kent Bumgarner of Kansas City, MO; and a niece Mary Pat Thomas of Shawnee, KS; and several great nephews and one great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a brother Fred Bumgarner Jr, and a nephew, Greg Bumgarner.

A Service is set for 11:00 a.m., Thursday (July 12) at the Brenner Mortuary with Reverend Mark Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the start of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church.
