Raymond Hinkle

Raymond Eugene Hinkle, 88, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday morning, March 1, 2018 at his home.

He was born February 4, 1930 at his family’s home, southeast of Pittsburg. He graduated from Crawford Community High School in Cherokee.

Raymond served in the United States Army from May 1, 1951 until being honorably discharged on January 13, 1953.

Following the Army, Raymond returned home to the family farm. In addition to farming, Raymond served as the sexton of Crocker Cemetery for many years.

He was a member of the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post #64 of Pittsburg.

Survivors include two first cousins, Darlene Thompson and Barbara Scott of Adrian, Missouri; and special friends, George Vanderpool and Randy Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service is set for 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Crocker Cemetery, Pittsburg, with Brad Burns, conducting the service. The Kansas National Guard Military Funeral Honors will provide graveside military services. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery.
