Richard Perry

Richard Lee Perry, 70, of Claremore, Oklahoma, formerly of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was born April 25, 1947 at Pittsburg, the son of Audra L. and Virginia (VanGorden) Perry. He attended Pittsburg High School, graduating with the Class of 1965. He then graduated from Kansas State Teachers College with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Following graduation from college, he farmed in Rolla, Kansas before moving back to Pittsburg where he worked for Huebner Motor Company, was a local Realtor, and Names and Numbers.

Dick was an avid golfer, Nascar fan and enjoyed various sports.

Survivors include a son, Michael Perry of Hugoton, Kansas; a daughter, Emily Keiswetter and her husband, Troy of Manhattan, Kansas; grandchildren, Audra and Aurie Perry of Hugoton, and Sabryn O’Gara, Sophie Williams, Kcanna and Kalob Keiswetter of Manhattan; two sisters, Barbara Shanks and Kay Marshall and her husband, Don of Pittsburg; a brother, Stephen Perry and his wife, Debbra of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Richie Perry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 18) at the Brenner Mortuary with Pastor Dale Samuels officiating. Private burial will take place in the Crocker Cemetery, Pittsburg, KS.
