Frederick McClure

Frederick Alden McClure, 80, of Pittsburg, passed away at 3:46 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2017 at his residence. 

He was born August 22, 1937, in Wichita, KS, to Ivan F. McClure and Gertrude G. Kerns McClure. Frederick enlisted in the United States Navy on August 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959. He was an Oblate at Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, Arkansas and involved in many other prayer groups at local parishes. Membership was held at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. 

Survivors include a son, Michael McClure and his wife Michelle of Pittsburg, KS; a daughter, Lisa Farris of Parsons, KS, and her friend Pat Duncan of Pittsburg, KS; three brothers, Martin McClure and his wife Dorothy of Plano, TX, Joseph McClure and his wife Brigitte of Elkhorn, NE; Robert McClure and his wife Carol of Huntington Beach, CA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Louise Harris, and Marlene L. McClure.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Michael Baldwin as Celebrant. . The parish rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Private Family Burial will be at the Subiaco Abbey in, Subiaco, AR. The family suggests memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
