Louise Oates

Louise Baker Oakes, 90, of Pittsburg, KS passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 20, 1927 to Gottlob and Lena Walz. She married Walter Scotty Baker on November 4, 1946, he preceded her in death. Louise then married Richard E. Oakes on July 11, 1987, he also preceded her in death.

She attended schools in Ohio and moved with her parents to Junction City, KS. She met and married Scotty Baker in Ft. Riley, KS. Her family moved to Pittsburg, KS in 1946 where they owned and operated the family business, Pittsburg Laundry and Dry Cleaning for 30 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. Baker of Parsons, KS and Linda L. Baker of Oklahoma City, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Otto E. Lutz and both of her husbands.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Inurnment will be at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made out to the SEK Humane Society.
