Alma Oehme

Alma Christine “Happy” Oehme, 84, of Pittsburg, passed away at 3:23 a.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her home. 

She was born February 20, 1932 at Pittsburg, the daughter of George and Emma (Holliger) Grotheer. She graduated from Cherokee High School. 

On April 28, 1951, she was united in marriage to Joseph P Oehme at Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2005. Mrs. Oehme was a homemaker, who loved and cherished being with her family. Membership was held in the St. John Lutheran Church. Survivors include, a son, Michael Oehme and his wife, Tina of rural Pittsburg; two daughters, Lora “Jodie” McNeely of Pittsburg and Jayne Livojevich and her husband, Tom of Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren, Sean McNeely and his wife, Val, Marc McNeely, Chris Livojevich and his wife, Rocio, and Micah Oehme; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Albert Grotheer, Elmer Grotheer, Darwin Grotheer, Otto Grotheer, and Pat Grotheer, and two sisters, her twin, Maxine Scott and Wilma Shirley. 

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday (Feb. 24) at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Wehrman officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. The family suggests memorials to St. John Lutheran Church.
