Willie Juanita (Beavers) Campbell 89, of Pittsburg, KS died 10:05pm Wednesday January 25, 2017 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Willie was born June 12, 1927 in Advance, AR the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Clark) Beavers. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Advance Arkansas Schools before moving to Pittsburg, KS.
On August 30, 1944 Willie married Herman Campbell in Kansas City, KS; he preceded her in death on February 3, 1970. Willie in her early years was known as a housewife but later worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Mt. Carmel Hospital and other various nursing homes in the area.
Willie was baptized in the Church of God; she loved to crochet, fish, garden and trapping rabbits. Family and most of all her grandkids were the most important things in her life.
Survivors include her children Judy McCabe and husband Donald of Emporia, KS, Ruth Jean Kolb-Campbell of Pittsburg, KS, Loretta Maynard of Marshfield, MO, Robert Campbell and wife Rhonda Kay of Blanco, OK, Kathie Thomas of Pittsburg, KS, Roger Campbell and wife Connie of Cedar Park, TX, Jeffrey Campbell and wife Chona of Pittsburg, KS and Jacob Campbell of Pittsburg, KS; brothers Arlan Beavers of Wichita, KS and Ronnie Beavers of Buffalo, MO; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and grandchildren John L. Thomas Jr., Christopher Thomas, Kenneth Wayne Campbell, Penny Denise Browne and Baby McCabe.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am Monday January 30, 2017 at the Church of God in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 7-8:00pm Sunday January 29, 2017 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 12:00pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Pittsburg, KS.
