Martha V. Back 99, of Hallowell, KS died 8:45am Wednesday January 18, 2017 at her home following a short illness.
Martha was born February 9, 1917 in Duenweg, MO the daughter of Virgil and Ina (Proll) Hutchens. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Hallowell schools.
On August 4, 1941 Martha married Lonnie Back in Columbus, KS; he preceded her in death on September 16, 1992.
Martha enjoyed cooking for her family and caring for her flowers.
Survivors include her children Lonnie Back of St. Louis, MO, Mervin Back of Hallowell, KS and Charlene Frame and husband Robert of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Jeff Back, Kevin Back, Becky Spainhower and Angie Douglas; great-grandchildren Cameron, Cody, Russell, Jaden, Alex, Chelsea, Julia and Josi.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grand-daughter Marsha Back and sisters Wilma and Melba.
Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with Chaplain Dennis Uchtman officiating. Burial will follow at the McKee Cemetery north of Hallowell, KS. Family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm Friday January 20, 2017 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS.
