Linda Sue (Hastings) Land, age 61, passed from this life on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Columbus, KS.
Linda was born October 26, 1955 in Burtonwood, England to the late William D. Hastings and Zena Beth (Venneberg) Hastings. Mrs. Land was a 1973 graduate of Bentonville High School, Bentonville, Arkansas. Linda obtained her cosmetology license after graduating from high school, and over the years took care of many family and friends with haircuts, permanents and trims. She always did an amazing job! Linda was a long-time resident of Bentonville, Arkansas and just moved to Columbus, Kansas a month ago.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, William D. Hastings, and her husband Norman Dale Land.
Linda is survived by her son, Cory Dale Hastings of Columbus, KS; mother, Zena Beth Hastings of Ft. Wayne, IN; one sister, Kathy Whelchel of Rogers, AR; one brother, Will Hastings of Ft. Wayne, IN. Linda loved her nieces and nephews very much, surviving is, Blake, Payton, and Ayden Hastings of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Zach and Jessie Whelchel of Rogers, AR. Linda is also survived by an Aunt, Josie Venneberg of Bentonville, AR and cousins, Darryl, Lisa, and Stephen Graham and Stephanie and Brian Argo and their precious daughter, Serenity all of Cave Springs, AR; Linda’s companion, Jim Gideon of Columbus, KS. Linda was very fortunate to have many dear friends who were like family to her that also survive.
Linda was an organ donor. We are very proud of her for giving others a second chance at life.
Linda has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
