James (Jim) Ray Zimmerman, 78, of Pittsburg, died October 2, 2017 at his home.
He was born June 12, 1939 in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of Thomas and Gertrude Zimmerman.
James graduated high school and attended Kansas State Teacher’s College for 4 years. He spent most of his life farming and served in the Army Reserve for a few years.

Survivors include son; James (Ellen) Standlee of Derby, KS, 3 daughters; Tara Standlee of Pittsburg, KS, Tamara (Jay) Rogers of Girard, KS, Raylynn Painter (Michael) of Arma, KS, 7 grandchildren, and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Thomas Zimmerman Jr., and 2 sisters; Ruth Pike, Betty Moore and friend; Verla Wagner.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 1 pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 7 to 8pm at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
