Charles F. Youvan 82, of Frontenac, KS died 530pm Friday July 28, 2017 at the Carrington Place in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Charles was born April 3, 1935 in Frontenac, KS the son of Frank and Edith (Menghini) Youvan. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Frontenac High School in 1952. On April 19, 1954 Charles married Luana L. Layden at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; she survives at the home. Charles worked as a Dental Technician for 60 years at Youvan Dental in Frontenac, KS.
Charles was a member of the Methodist Church in Frontenac, KS; he enjoyed flying airplanes in his early years; loved family history and the history of Frontenac, KS; was known to be very supportive of his wife, grandchildren and his only great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife Luana of the home that Charles built in 1959; children Douglas C. Youvan and wife Josi of Frontenac, KS, Kimberly D. Youvan of Pittsburg, KS, Eric N. Youvan of Arma, KS; grandchildren Joel T. Youvan, Annabelle O.L. Davis, Abigayle L. R. Davis, Jesse E. L. Davis, Julian N.C. Davis, Ian A. Youvan and Alexis A. Youvan and one great-grandchild Karmyn I. Davis.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Youvan, father and mother-in-law Frank and Lorreine Layden and brother in law Ron Layden.
Celebration of Life will be 2:30pm Saturday August 5, 2017 at the Carrington Place in Pittsburg, KS. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Frank Layden Elementary School.
