Velma D. Wehmeyer, 95, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2018.
She was born October 6, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Nobie Bath. She attended Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburg and received a degree in Elementary Education.
She taught in Monmouth and Baxter Springs until joined in marriage to Willard Wehmeyer on March 3, 1946.
She was blessed with seven children: Sue Diebolt, Norma (Larry) Wooten, Ron (Wilma Filby) Wehmeyer, Joy (Bruce) Weber, Walter (Theresa Hosier) Wehmeyer, Kay (Larry) Pommier, and Jo Dee (Danny) Burke. She is also survived by a brother, Elwood (Lou Nell) Bath, two sister-in-laws, Joy Huffman and Fern Bath, 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, one daughter, Sue Diebolt, parents, and brothers, Bill and Bob Bath.
A visitation will be held at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS, Friday, November 9, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. According to Velma’s wishes she will be cremated and have a private family inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are for St. John Lutheran Church, 304 W. 3rd, Pittsburg, KS 66762 or may be left or mailed to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
