Marie B. Albertini, 94, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018, at Oak View Estates, Frontenac, KS.
She was born September 25, 1924, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Mario and Mary Grace (Gentlicore) Boccucci.
Marie graduated from McKinley Tech, Washington, D.C. She worked at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. She met her husband Leroy Albertini while working for the Library of Congress. They were married on May 7, 1951, at St. Aloysius Church, Washington, DC. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1979.
Marie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a life time member of the Mt. Carmel Auxiliary and St. Paul’s Widow Group.
She survived by her two sons, LeRoy Albertini, Jr. (Sonia) of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Alan Albertini (Debi) of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Rosalie Vlach of Washington, D.C.; sister-in-law, Carole Koritko of Hagerstown, Maryland; 5 grandchildren, LeRoy F. Albertini III (Jennifer) of Bay Harbor Island, FL, Oliver R. Albertini of Palo Alto, California, Graciela B. Albertini of Pembroke Pines, FL, Josephine “Josie” Albertini and Frank Albertini both of Tucson, Arizona, and 1 great-grandchild Rowan Albertini of Bay Harbor Island, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Ralph Boccucci, Philip Boccucci, and Felix Boccucci.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday (Oct. 26) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac, KS, with Fr. Philip J. Voegeli as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Frontenac, KS. A Liturgical service will be read at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following, the family will receive friends until service time. Friends may also call from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brenner Mortuary to sign the register. The family suggests memorials be made to Mt Carmel Cemetery Fund. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St, Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
