Aurelia Marie Pyle, 91, of Girard, Kansas, died at 9:37 a.m., Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the WestRidge Assisted Living in Girard.
Marie was born March 15, 1927 at Frontenac, a daughter of Eugene and Lydia (Castellani) Scassellati.
Marie attended schools in Frontenac and graduated from Frontenac High School.
She married Donald Dean Pyle on October 1, 1946 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2015.
Marie and Donald lived in Girard after their marriage and Marie worked at Crawford County Abstract.
Marie enjoyed her grandchildren, flower gardening, reading, quilting and embroidery, cooking, the Girard Trojans, the KU Jayhawks, and the Kansas City Royals.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard.
Survivors are her sons, Tom Pyle, and his wife, Biddy, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Mike Pyle, and his wife, Janelle, of Frontenac and Steve Pyle, and his wife, Sarajo, of Girard; eight grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Josephine Painter of Arma and Diana Walsh of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Scassellati.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard with Fr. Floyd McKinney as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, at St. Michaels Church and the family will receive friends following the Rosary. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
Memorials are suggested to St. Michael Church or “Angels Among Us” and these may be left at the church or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
