Quintella Fulton

Quintella (Jones) Fulton, 80, of Parsons, died at 3:05 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin;

She was born May 8, 1938, at Picayune, Mississippi, to Richard L. Jones and Lela May James. She grew up there and met Hiram A. “Art” Fulton, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They married on November 8, 1955 at Kessler Air Force Base at Biloxi, Mississippi. She completed her G.E.D. and attended a cosmetology school.

The couple lived in various places while he was serving in the military and came to Parsons in February of 1966. She had been employed at the Fred Ronald Garment Co. and later worked as a hairdresser and as a CNA at nursing homes. She was a member of the Hamilton Chapel United Methodist Church and some of her hobbies included sewing, fishing and playing bingo.

Quintella is survived by her husband, who survives of the home; a daughter, Quinzella Fulton-Ivory, of Parsons; two sons, Hiram Fulton, Jr., of Fort Worth, Texas and Sandy Williams, of Parsons; eight grandchildren, including Alexzandria Ivory, of Kansas City, Missouri and Quinique Y. Pike and husband Jordan, of Kansas City, Kansas; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by five brothers. Preceding her in death were two sons, Prentiss Fulton and Donald Fulton.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the Hamilton Chapel, with Riley Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
