Kent J. Belew, 60, of Pittsburg, passed away at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at his residence.
He was born February 26, 1958, at Pittsburg, KS, to James L. and Eleanora L. (Calhoun) Belew. He attended local schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1976.
Kent was the owner/operator of Kent Belew Custom Machine.
On June 1, 1991, he was united in marriage to Lorna at Frontenac, KS. She survives of the home.
Membership was held in the Mirza Shrine and Masonic Lodge. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robin (Carmen) Belew of Pittsburg, KS, and Brandon (Katharyne) Belew of Girard, KS, sister-in-law, Teresa Belew of Frontenac,KS, four grandchildren, Dakota Reese, Eliana, Bryce and Hannah and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kris Belew.
A service is set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg. Private family burial will take place in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Hospice and/or KU Endowment for Cancer Research.
