Shirley K. Allison, 86, of Oswego, died June 19, 2020 at 12:30 am at Elm Haven East, Parsons Ks.
She was born June 9, 1934, in Oswego KS to Clifton E. and Opal V. (Shearhart) Dains. She was raised in Oswego and attended schools there, graduating in 1952.
She married Robert D. Allison Jr. in June 1952. They later divorced.
She was a member of the Oswego First United Methodist Church, where she held several offices through the years.
She worked for Deming Investment Co., Glenn Berry Mfg., Labette County Treasurer Office, Hoskins Chevrolet, Chimes Inc. and Labette County Conservation Camp. She enjoyed being with her family, friends, reading and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Allison & wife Susan of Parsons, KS, Donnie Allison & wife Janie of Prairie Village, KS; one daughter, Kim Atkins & husband Colin of Dennis, KS; six grandchildren, Grant Allison & wife Cherie of Las Vegas, NV, Bobbi Allison of Parsons, KS, Shawn Allison & wife Ann of Booneville, AR, Spence Allison & wife Lisa of Parsons, KS, Beth Ann Allison of Waco, TX and Jeff Allison & wife Leigh of Prairie Village, KS; Step-Grandson Claib Atkins & wife Michelle of Altamont KS; eight great-grandchildren, Kelley & Chloe Allison of Las Vegas, NV; Ava Marie Allison of Columbus, KS; Ayden Rhinehart of Booneville AR; Lilly, Liam & Landry Allison of Prairie Village, KS, Harriet Allison of Parsons, KS; 3 Step-great-grandchildren, Sadie, Abbie & Eli Atkins of Altamont KS; Niece Terri Murphy of Topeka, KS and brother-in-law Jim Lacey of Herington, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Doris L. Rauch and Roberta A. Lacey.
Viewing hours will be from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Oswego, KS.
A private family funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, June 29, 2020 at Oswego First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Conway officiating. Friends are invited to attend the public graveside service at 11:00 am, Monday, June 29, 2020 at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church 204 Illinois, Oswego, KS 67356 in memory of Shirley K. Allison.
