Saundra Kay Carson, age 73, passed away at 3:42 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her home following an illness.
Saundra was born October 11, 1946 in Columbus, KS. Her parents were Homer and Thelma (Ivy) Bristow. She was raised in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School with the Class of 1964.
She was married to Nelson Leroy Carson. Her husband was in the military. For that reason, she moved with him where ever he was stationed throughout his career. Upon his retirement, she returned to Columbus. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, KS. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos, and watching game shows on her television.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin (Dave) Cobb and Mellissa (Scott) Nicoson, all of Columbus; her mother, Thelma Bristow, Columbus; two sisters, Brenda Gail Bunny, Lowell, KS, and Karen Legrasso, Columbus; 5 grandchildren, Brian Tibbs, Casey Carson, Tamra Nicoson, Zachery Nicoson, and Carson, Cobb; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, one son, Jeffrey Michael Carson, one brother, Homer Dale Bristow, and one sister, Phyllis Frazier.
Saundra was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus KS for cremation. The family will schedule a memorial service at a later date.
