Dana Sailsbury

Dana Jo Sailsbury, 78, longtime Parsons resident, died at 9:40 P.M., Friday, June 12, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born September 10, 1941 at Sewickley, PA, a daughter of Robert and Marguerite (Merman) Queen. At an early age her family moved to Parsons, where she attended school. She graduated from the Parsons High School with the Class of 1959 and then attended the Parsons Junior College, graduating in 1961. Then worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at the Labette County Medical Center from 1973 until retiring in 1997.

On June 29, 1961 she was united in marriage to Dean Sailsbury. They later divorced.

She was a member of the Westside Christian Church. During retirement she volunteered as a concierge and Pink Lady at Labette health. She also served on the Southeast Kansas Pink Ladies Association board of directors and served as President. She was also active with the Parsons Senior Center and was a hostess there. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, playing cards and fishing. 








Survivors include: two sons – Ron Sailsbury, and his fiancĂ©e, Katrina Fausset, Rural Parsons, KS, Lonnie Sailsbury, and his wife, Anita, Parsons, KS; one daughter – Peggy Tillman, and her husband, Andy, Asbury, MO; one granddaughter – Miranda Perez, Parsons, KS; her beloved pet dog – Cowboy; one sister – Cindy Spriggs, and her husband, Steve, Rural Parsons, KS.

She was preceded in death by one brother – Bob Queen, Jr. and one sister – Susan Queen.

Following cremation, private graveside services will be held at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Proud Animals Lovers Shelter (P.A.L.S.) or to the Basic Animal Rights Council (B.A.R.C.). These may be left at or mailed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O.
