The world lost an old soul too soon; Larry Wayne Coppock, 34, of Parsons, died at 9:47 A.M., Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the emergency room at Labette Health.
He was born December 17, 1985 at Parsons, a son of Larry Ray and Donna Faye (Steeby) Coppock. During Larry’s childhood he lived throughout southeast Kansas where he made many friends throughout the area. He finished school and graduated from the Parsons High School in 2004.
After high school he did some traveling and ended up finding his way to Grove, OK where he worked with Grove Public Schools in Oklahoma as a building engineer for several years. He was also known to pick up a roadie gig at times, especially if it was for some rock. Larry eventually found his way back closer to his roots and moved back to Parsons.
In 2008 he became a proud father of Kristoffer. Larry could be found hanging out with his two beloved dogs at home or you could find him at a nearby fishing hole around the area. When he wanted to relax you could find him watching a comedy, cooking up some good food, spending his time with family or listening to music while working with his hands.
Survivors include: one son – Kristoffer Coppock, of Parsons, KS; his mother –Donna Faye Steeby, of Columbus, KS; one sister – Heather Steeby, of Independence, KS; one half-brother – Mark Coppock, of Pittsburg, KS. He was preceded in death by his father; a grandmother, Linda West; and an uncle Daniel Paul West.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 26, 2020 at the North Edna Cemetery with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating. Friends may call at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Thursday.
