Neal Franklin Stroud, 64, Milo, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Halltown, MO. Neal was born April 27, 1954 in Stockton, CA to Billy Bruce and Georgie Mae (Chambers) Stroud. He married Carol Timbrook on September 1, 1974 in Nevada and they celebrated 43 years together.
Neal was raised in Stockton, CA and later moved to Stockton, MO where he graduated from Stockton High School in 1971. Following high school Neal joined the United States Army where he served from 1971-1974. He then served from in 1975 until 1992, retiring after 22 years of service. Most of his military career was spent in Germany. Neal earned several service medals including the Bronze Star. Following his time in the service he and his family settled in Milo, MO. Neal has been a self-employed truck driver for the past 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Carol of the home; three children, Jason Stroud, Bolivar, MO, Lisa Charles, Nevada, Travis Stroud and his wife Candy, Ft. Scott, KS; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Clanton and her husband John, Stockton, CA; brother, Bruce Stroud, Stockton, CA; step-brothers, Larry Sullivant and his wife Bonnie, Wheatland, MO, Jimmy Sullivant and his wife Susan, Grand Bay, AL; mother-in-law, Barbara Driver, Milo; brothers-in-law, Dennis Timbrook and his wife Brenda, Nevada, Jeff Timbrook and is wife Tonya, Milo; step-mother, Mildred Stroud, Grand Bay, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Bro. Robert Burk officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in Milo Cemetery.
