Selma F. Yoder, 69, or affectionately known as "Sam" of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Via Christi Hospital.
She was born February 15, 1949, at Davenport, IA, to Donald J. and Maxine G. (Schnoor) Frick. Selma graduated Alhambra High School in Phoenix, AZ. After graduation she attended the University of Iowa.
On October, 3, 1970, she was united in marriage to Dennis L. Yoder. He survives of the home.
Sam was a caring member of her community and a hard-working member of Grace United Methodist Church. Always striving to help, she was an active member of Kiwanis International where she gave so much of herself to so many people, as well as the Pittsburg Progressive Study Club where she rarely missed a meeting. She was a supportive wife to Dennis, traveling the world with him while also being a doting mother to her two girls.
She was a wonderful homemaker and creative soul, a lover of all things holiday, and a master gardener. Her yard showed that. She was always willing to help others; Sam was a hard worker and her husband's best friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Dennis, two daughters, Jennifer Ann Yoder of Austin TX, and Amanda de la Llata and her husband Julio of Austin, TX, two grandchildren, Solomon and Bernadette de la Llata.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald J. Frick.
