Pat Lee Wheeler, 70, of Pittsburg, Kansas, died at 2:50 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2018 at his residence in Pittsburg.
Pat, one of fourteen siblings, was born July 1, 1947 in Fort Scott, Kansas, a son of Ralph and Mary (Simmons) Wheeler. Pat grew up in the Fulton, Kansas and Fort Scott areas.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1967 until 1970, where he was honorably discharged and received numerous medals, including a purple heart.

Pat married Cathy L. Cambers on February 14, 1997 in Lamar, Missouri. She survives of the home.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Cherokee American Legion and the Cherokee Ruritan.
Pat enjoyed working cattle, fishing, playing cards with his friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Cathy, of the home, are a son, Troy and his wife, Angela, of Pueblo, Colorado; his daughters, Carolyn Brooker, and her husband, Mitchell, of Fort Scott, Rochelle Mefford and her husband Mike of Kansas City, Patricia Schoenhofer, and her husband, Gary, of Girard; his step-daughters Cassie Buffington of Pittsburg and Lindsey Coester, and her husband, Dustin, of Walnut, Kansas; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, seven brothers and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be at 10:00a.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. The services will conclude with military honors given by the Fort Riley Funeral Detail.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
