Jackie R. 'Jack' Gourley, age 75, Galena, Kansas, passed away at 8:36 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home after an illness.
Jack was born April 17, 1941 in Shawnee, Kansas to the late Ira George Gourley and Eva Leford Gourley and had lived in Galena all of his life.
He worked as a forklift operator for Lozier, Inc. accident free for over 25 years. In his spare time, he worked out of his garage repairing engines of any size. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting or woodworking. He was a founder of 'A Touch of Ozarks', located in Houston, Texas. Jack was a faithful member of Christ Point Church in Galena and will be missed by all that knew him.
He married Judith LaTurner on May 28, 1966 in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two children, Milissa Weidman, Houston, Texas, Marla Gourley, Galena; two sisters, Peggy Bellamey and Mary Collins, both of Galena; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kristen; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by siblings, Keith, Alfred, Roy, Gleane and Virginia.
Memorial services are planned for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Point Church in Galena. Josh Pennington will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
