Norma J. Boswell, 80, of Pittsburg, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at her home.
She was born October 12, 1938 at Franklin, Kansas, the daughter of Joe and Emma (Sartore) Beltram. She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Arma High School.
On August 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Harold “Gene” Boswell at the Arma Methodist Church. He survives at the family home.
Mrs. Boswell worked for Crowell and Ash Drug Stores as a bookkeeper. She then went to work for the Census Bureau, where she retired after 30 years. Following retirement, she worked for BKD Accounting.
Membership was held in the Frontenac United Methodist Church and the Phi Tau Omega Sorority. She loved to travel and play golf.
In addition to her husband, Gene, she is survived by two sons, Scott Boswell and Lisa Smith of Pittsburg and Kevin Boswell of Pittsburg; a brother, Larry Beltram and his wife, Jan of Fort Scott, Kansas; a sister, Emma Jo Beltram of Arma, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Mardelle Wray of McPherson, Kansas; a grandson, Ryan Boswell; a great-granddaughter, Brielle Boswell; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday (Dec. 28) at the Brenner Mortuary with Pastor Annie Ricker officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday. The family suggests memorials be given to the Frontenac United Methodist Church &/or the Shriner’s Transportation Fund. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
