Michael Anne “Mikie” Boyd, 74, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away at 12:27 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
She was born October 27, 1944 at Pittsburg, the daughter of Matthew W. and Wilma M. (Uhles) Young. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1963 and attended Pittsburg State University
On September 18, 1981, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” D. Boyd at Miami, Oklahoma. He survives at the family home.
Mrs. Boyd was the office manager for Urologic Surgery Associates for twenty-five years.
She loved to travel, spend time at the beach and enjoyed her family time at the pool.
In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by three daughters, Christy Wood and her husband, Brent of Lenexa, Cindy VanBecelaere and her husband, Rusty of Pittsburg, and Courteney Murdock; a son, Mike Potter and his wife, Bev of Florida; twelve grandchildren, Susie Hightower-Piccini, Corey Boyd, Jordan Stewart, Hayley Murdock, Austin Wood, Brandon Wood, Hannah Wood, Logan Wood, Maddy VanBecelaere, Tate VanBecelaere, Sean Potter, and Alexi Potter; and 2 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A service is set for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday (Dec. 12) at Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
