Glen Allen Roosa, age 84 was pronounced dead at 7:55 am, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mercy Hospital Joplin M following injuries received in a car/pedestrian accident earlier in Galena, KS
Glen was born June 26, 1931 in Galena, KS. His parent were James Allen Roosa and Wyona (Shallenburger) Roosa. He was a long-time resident of Galena.
He owned and operated the Galena Motel between 1991 and 2012. He was a successful entrepreneur. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.
His companion, Charles “Chuck” Burkybile was fatally injured in the same accident.
Surviving is one son, Stephen Roosa (wife, Nan Ellen), Louisville KY; one daughter, Cheri Roosa-Kane (husband, William) Louisville, KS; one sister, Barbara Sprague Shaw, Galena, KS; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Roosa-Collins, Daniel Roosa, Clellan Kane, Robbin Honious, and Maryelle Jackson; and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant sister, Clara Idella Roosa.
The family received friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Sunday July 9, 2017 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
A memorial service was held that evening at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff D Martin officiating.
