Donald Paul Orender, 86, went to the Lord on August 18, 2017.
He was born November 28, 1930 to Hurby and Pauline (Hudson) Orender in Pittsburg.
He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1948 and enlisted in the Air Force serving from 1952 to 1956 as staff sergeant. He married Shirley Farris on September 24, 1955 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He worked to put himself through what is now PSU graduating with a degree in Marketing and Accounting. He worked as an accountant with local companies until his retirement. He was a convert to the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, his children; Bonnie (Henry) Ford, Charlotte (Scott) Russel, Susie (Mike) O’Laughlin, Flora (Jeff) Beasley, Kathy (Richard) Hadley, Donna Orender-Landrith, Donald (Jackie) Orender, Patrick Orender, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Mary Ellen, his parents, a brother, Ivan Orender and sister, Norma Whetzell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 22, at 10 am at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Fr. Michael Baldwin as celebrant. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. The parish rosary will be at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home on Monday evening, August 21 at 7 pm. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund.
