Hattie “Faye” Shryock, age 85, of Galena, KS passed away at 12:44 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, MO. Faye was born March 24, 1932 in Maude, TX. She moved to Galena in 1989 from CA. Faye was a homemaker and member of the 6th St. Baptist Church in Galena. She was also a member of the Galena Woman’s Club, and served as President of the Resident’s Council for Galena Nursing Center.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Shryock, two daughters, Linda Palochick, and Dorothy Hamilton, and a son, Robert M. Shryock. Survivors include four sons, John Dunn, Chino, CA, Charles Dunn and wife Anita, Rossmoor, CA, Danny Dunn, Torrance, CA, and Steve Shryock, Galena, two daughters, Connie Kelley, Long Beach, CA, and Dianne Randolph and husband Bob, Hemet, CA, one brother, Edwin Evans and wife Evelyn, Sonora, CA, two sisters, Mary Palmer, Springfield, MO and Minnie Rider, Vacaville, CA, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
Faye’s wishes were to be cremated and her ashes buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, MO.
